Our programme, accredited through ONE Awards, is a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Heritage Skills (Construction), specialising in masonry and wood occupations. Achievement of the qualification provides a route into the built heritage sector for those people working in mainstream construction, those seeking to change career or new entrants to the sector who wish to develop skills and expertise in the use of traditional building methods and materials.
These are National full apprenticeships and are being funded via the Skills Funding agency.
Eligibilty
Level 2 or equivalent in an appropriate skill OR 5 Years’ experience working in the sector OR
Proof of substantial knowledge and experience in traditional construction crafts
PLEASE NOTE: You must also be employed in a suitable capacity for more than 16 hours per week. (Placements may be available with national employers).
All potential apprentices will be interviewed.
Funding Options
16-18 year olds will be fully funded via the Skills Funding Agency
19-24 year olds will usually have to secure up to 50% of the funding to cover their contribution (Full funding may be available subject to eligibility)
Over 24 year olds in most cases will not be funded though costs can be supported via employer contributions, advanced learner loans , bursary awards etc.
Candidates who hold qualifications at Level 4 or above i.e graduates are not eligible for funding so a fee for the qualification would be charged and the amount of this depends on which framework is being followed.
