At our Heritage Training Centre at Thorp Perrow, Bedale (the first of its kind in the UK) we are dedicated to ensuring skills including stone masonry and building with lime are not lost
Our centre can cater for around one thousand people every year; offering professionals training in specialist skills, as well as giving young people formal qualifications to go into the workforce.
We also give keen amateur enthusiasts the chance to try their hand at courses such as Lime pointing and Green Timber Framing.
Restored and created by Heritage Craft Alliance Ltd in the grounds of Thorp Perrow Arboretum, our centre also has the support of organisations like the National Trust, and Canal & River Trust and was officially opened by Rt Hon William Hague on 9th September 2011.
At our Thorp Perrow base we have fully functional workshop facilities able to cater for all of the traditional skills.
In addition to this we also have access to 'live sites' where we will carry out an ongoing renovation project aimed at putting some historic buildings back into reuse.
